We will divide the class into two blocks: Sketch and color. And we will have different parts within these.
In the first part we will talk about the line, how to have a good Workflow when drawing and how to achieve volume and texture with it. We will also work on how to get a good balance between textures and smooth areas to get a balanced and elegant drawing. We will do a very fun exercise that consists of transforming our drawing by separating and deforming parts of it as pieces of a puzzle. We will work on the composition of the character on the canvas before giving it a color treatment.
As we work I will be able to tell you about how my personal work and my presence on the internet have helped me become a professional illustrator and how there are many different ways to make a living from your artwork. I would also like us to talk about the importance of respecting and valuing our work, as well as taking care of our health in order to dedicate ourselves as much time as possible to what we love. We can talk about the industry and other aspects of this profession.
In the second part we will learn how to apply color, what color ranges to use and how to take advantage of line and texture. We will also learn how to apply colors by areas and thus add richness to the illustration.
I will show you how I apply shadow and light directing the viewer’s attention to a specific area, achieving an effect that will give the strength to your final artwork.
This is a different, creative and very fun process that will help you improve your drawings both in line and color, and achieve a great final finish.
