You will learn how to develop an idea from start to finish. You don’t have to have a previous idea worked out, you can start from scratch, you just need an open mind. We will take all those ideas of individual characters that are in our heads, and we will draw them on separate paper sheets. Then we will see how to put them all in one document, in a bible, and how to go about selling it. We will analyze the pros and cons of doing this type of work, and to avoid the most common mistakes and to learn from them, according to Jose’s experience.
You can work individually or in a group, as you prefer.
After all, according to our artist, we create our stories by adapting our own experiences to our characters.
We will also learn creative techniques to unlock our imagination (brainstorming, word games, random combinations, etc).
You will identify what your idea is, what is the topic you want to talk about, and develop it so that it is salable. You will dive into character creation to create characters that have strong hook.
You will develop a bible of 6 or 7 pages, with its protagonist, its secondary characters, its antagonists or problem, the world they live in, the synopsis of the chapters, and you will develop a final image of how the series would look. The course is focused on TV series, film or short, although the comic or graphic novel Bibles are very similar.
You will also learn about legal copyright laws.
The objective of this course is to end it with a finished project or, at least, with a completed bible sketch. You will avoid wasting time in the idea development stages and excessively prolonging your projects schedule.
You will observe the pros and cons of dedicating yourself to this line of work.
